I have seen my skin start to break out quite a bit due to the masks. I never had acne on my cheeks until recently and I really wanted to learn how to prevent breakouts as much as possible. I started doing research and here is what I have larked and what has been working for me.
Fist off, I decided to switch up my skincare routine. In the mornings, I use Cetephil cleansing wash, then I use Versed vitamin C serum, and I end with Cerave AM moisturizer with SPF. Using an SPF is a crucial part in anyone's skincare routine, not only does it protect your skin from wrinkles and sunburns, but it will also prevent any acne spots from turning into scars or dark spots, which I have many of. If you forget everything else about skincare, just remember to wear sunscreen, even a little bit will help.
For nighttime, if I have makeup on, I remove my makeup with Micellar water and a cotton round, and then I wash my face twice with Cetephil, just to make sure I get everything off. Next, I use CeraVe retinol serum and PM moisturizer, and I end with vitamin E oil to help with my acne scars.
I try to keep it simple when it comes to skincare, and I have found that these products have really helped my acne and just overall have brightened my skin!
When it comes to the maskne, I have learned the hard way that makeup, sweat, and friction cause the worst breakouts. I have become particular about when and where I wear makeup. For example, if I am going somewhere where I need to keep my mask on the whole time, like shopping, then I only wear makeup on my eyes. But, if I'm going somewhere where I will only have the mask on for a short time, like a restaurant, then I will wear a full face of makeup.
Lastly, make sure you are washing your masks often, I usually try to wear my masks about three times and then wash it.
